While I know that such medical conditions – and devices – exist, this is getting a bit difficult to follow. It’s not like she’s with him when they are together, either: She’s sitting in a room, at home, looking at a computer screen as she moves this robot that takes her place in the outside world.
It would seem that Cruz is, in a way, her only contact with the outside world, someone who doesn’t appear to consider her entire existence some kind of freak show. And yet, we know that Cruz has his faults, too.
