Inventory Eve at my store. Today (Monday) is our final day to prepare, with some pre-counts we do and getting the store perfectly cleaned up and organized. It has meant a chance for me (and others) to put in some overtime hours – something we rarely are allowed to do. So, I worked almost 6 hours Saturday on my day off and I worked about 10 and a half hours on Sunday. I’m pretty tired now but it will all be worth it when I see my next paycheck. I plan on working a little overtime today too, the Tuesday is my day off again and I’ll rest that day. We don’t anticipate a good inventory. We had a LOT of losses this year to theft – part of the BLM movement (at least that’s what they used as an excuse) when we had a couple break-ins and a lot of looting and other thefts. Odds are the quarterly bonus in December will be small or not at all as a result.
For people keeping track, I have my final results for money I raised for Children’s Miracle Network by selling my garden produce in our break room this year. I raised a total of $132.50 – far more than I had anticipated or hoped for. And that is with an investment of less than $5 for garden seeds. My garden is all done now. I saved some squash for myself and that’s all I had left from the garden. I did much better this year keeping track of how much I raised. Most years, once the green beans are done, I stop keeping track. This year, I was determined to keep a careful record. I’m sure I’ve always topped $100 each year, but I’m not sure I ever raised quite this much. I have people paying on the honor system and in past years, I had lots of green beans and tomatoes disappear without seeing any money for them. That didn’t happen as much this year. Only a couple times. And they might have actually paid by putting the money in the big CMN collection drum we have at the front of the store. So I might really have raised MORE than $132.50, but I’m using that as my final official count. I am very pleased with my total.
I’m having quite a bit of trouble with my laptop and will be mailing it in for repair before it completely dies on me, so I will not be commenting for several days. Withdrawal should be interesting!
All 3 computers are i the shop :(. Having to use my tablet and I don’t like it.Ronnie will drop them off on his way home tonight. :) He has to pass here to get there.
Mr. Cuddles looks happy for now, but I don’t know if he’ll like the matching outfits. Regardless, it’s always nice to have a pet. On another note, saw a chickadee, a junco, and a rabbit while out walking today. I also heard a Steller’s jay, a squirrel, and a raven.

OK, let’s be clear. It’s not crazy to talk to your cat. It’s only crazy if you listen to their answers.
