My “Let things be” tree is a bicycle or canoe in summer, and XC skis or skates in winter.

I have a tree in my yard that I love. I don’t really lean against it but I have touched it thousands of times since I planted it 27 years ago. It’s a beautiful crabapple, just being near it soothes me.

This strip absolutely never forgets the essential goodness in life and the many small things to enjoy and be thankful for. It’s my leaning tree.

I found my first let things be tree in college. It was in a somewhat secluded spot overlooking Lake Michigan. It was really great to have a place to go to de-stress. My second one also overlooks the lake.

I hug my trees all the time – I think they like it as much as I do.

Is it the same genus as the tree that knows things?

I grew two such trees in my back yard – and hung a hammock between them.

Not every tree is suitable to be a Let-it-be tree. You also have the nasty kite eating trees.
