Finally, something that I want to make a Framed Collectible Print out of. Sigh. It’s only Monday. By the way Charlie Brown, ’can’t’ is only a state of mind. Like when it comes to a second piece of pie.
i just read it. charlie brown says “now that shool is out i won’t be seeing that little red haired girl…” next panel he closes his eyes and says" its just as well… this will give me a chance to forget about her… this will give me a chance to put her completly out of my mind." next panel he smiles and walks. last panel he stops, frowns, and says “i can’t!”
Dear GoComics,Today is June 6. On this day in 1944, the Allied forces landed on the beaches of Normandy and spelled the beginning of the end of World War II. From 1993 to 1998 (with the exception of 1995), Schulz would do a comic strip commemorating the brave men and women who risked their lives to save Europe. Even though he died 10 years ago and Peanuts with him, you could at least rerun one of the commemorative D-Day strips he did in the 90’s.Mac47
Ditto to Mac47. I just commented on the Red and Rover strip. My dad was a D-Day veteran and used to comment years ago that the only mention of D-Day in the newspapers was the Peanuts strip. Dad collected autographs and I know he wrote Charles Schultz to thank him.
This is the saddest Peanuts strip I’ve read. Just look at his happy face in the 3rd panel, his temporary relief from the forever-unrequited longing for the only girl he’s loved. His curse will continue through the summer break while everyone else enjoys it (maybe except Patty).
