There was one town I lived in that had great Affordable Housing. People… especially young families… would flock to the area to get in on the housing. For those of us who knew better… we tried to warn these people. Then the rains would come. The Housing was built in the dry riverbed. Heavy rains and the area flooded. At times they flooded so bad – the buildings would get washed away. The Why-do-monster-lurk-behind-desks moment is when they would rebuild in the same place… and people would come from all over the place to get into the Affordable Housing.
I think I’ve been to that town. It was south of the border – but I think it’s spread northward into this country since I was there, oh so many years ago, by the pictures I’ve seen on the internet. I always wondered how they rented those ‘houses’ out?

Affordable because all you had to do is obey all the signs that read “If you break it, you own it” …!
