From yesterday – these are some of the cats waiting for me over the Rainbow Bridge. This list goes back 45 years, so this isn’t all of them. I just didn’t keep records earlier. I wish I had. Satan, Lucky, Tippy, Prince, Peaches, Black, Spunky, Angel, Princess, Monster (named for his size, not his temperament), Wooly and her 2 kittens that died at 6 days old, Pest, Sugar, Pretty Kitty, Pumpkin, Miss Hiss, Duchess, Misty, Moe, White Socks, Sneakers, Tab E, Lucy, Tiffany, Licorice, Minnie, Cookie, Missy, Max, Stubby, Buddy, Bushytail, Trixie, Ralph, Marcy, Eddie, Chip, Spike, Ike, Freida, Red Stray, Jasper, Elmer, Dolly. Oscar, Tigger, Abbie and Lovebug.
I wonder if foster cats count? I had my brother Jim’s cats too – Snuggles and Pete were loving with me when they died. I still have Jim;s other cat, Kay. He can’t have cats where he lives now.
I posted this on another of my comic reads, but thought some of my friends here might find it interesting. It has to do with Covid 19: I guess I’m a bit of a ‘fatalist’, but I do consistently practice intelligent social distancing. Fortunately, I live where I’m pretty well isolated here in northernmost Maine. But then something like this happens…..a wedding in Millinocket, ME (150 miles south) has 65 guest at the venue and now nearly 90 (and counting) people have Covid-19 and one has died. Yes, here I am, after a week of sitting on boys. One more week until school starts, and then I only have to help get them off to school. Then I migrate up to my daughter’s, to help with my great-granddaughter’s home schooling.
Great picks today, bbear..can’t make up my mind for a fave,,,guess I’ll have to say,,,“ALL of them” are great, thank you for finding and posting for the enjoyment of all of us..
I lived in a quiet neighborhood near the Pacific Ocean. I was able to walk my two cats and thoroughly explored the area. After a couple of years, I started walking them toward the West. I figured a little further every day and we would eventually be walking on the beach. Fortunately, my cats had NO interest in being near Highway 1, between us and the ocean. :)
UPDATE on Yesmin, When she got to the Children’s hospital late afternoon yesterday her blood sugar was 1700. They immediately put her on insulin and IV fluids, and got it down to 1000 by late night. She was in a coma. Today they got it down to 450, but not until late this afternoon, and she was mumbling and sort of recognized her mother. Then was out again. They are testing for brain damage from those incredibly high blood sugar levels. And yes it is type 1 diabetes and she will be on insulin for the rest of her life. Sarah arranged with a friend who lives in Memphis to take food to Yuri (Yesmin’s mom) and get whatever she might need. Sarah drove home this afternoon, bought groceries for the family and took Melissa, the older sister home, and left the groceries. There are two little boys (3 and 5) in that family, and a nephew (who works construction but has had few jobs lately) and his wife (who is taking care of everyone in Yuri’s absence) and baby. Anyway, I appreciate the prayers and thoughts/energy for healing.
Fake news! (Or should that be fake mews?) Annie had nothing to do with the beach trip. If Chesney wants tom see who’s to blame, he should look in a mirror.. On another note, saw a mouse, a raven, a dragonfly, and a rabbit while out walking today.
