I’m not a person taken with celebrity and I think it’s sad, as a general rule, when people die. But when when he died, I found myself mourning. I grew up watching him from the Mork and Mindy days. And though his story mirrored others’ in ways, he was always special to me.
There are few comics that could make me laugh without a “set” of jokes repeated or read off a card held up. Robin had a non-stop wit like none other. You never knew what he’d say next.Don’t think he did either from one moment to another. . . . loved that.
As a near my edge of the horizon, I can only think of the one person I would like to have had known personally, and it is Robin Williams, Not only because his genius and his humor, But more because he suffered in silence all the while he entertained us, most of the movies where he did his magic I have my favorites, All of them, the many with comedic intonations, And some with drama overload like “What thing will become” (not sure that is the title but. You all will get it) and no to forget “Insomnia” tha one was so riveting than I had a hasta time going to sleep that night, Dear Robin Williams, wherever you are I’m sure you are much better than many of us including me, Sweet dreams Prince Robin,
I and two friends almost literally died laughing at one of his concerts in San Jose, CA. One of the true highlights of my life, even 40 years later. He was truly one of the nicest people I’ve ever met (even though I only got to talk to him for 15 minutes). I watch clips of him on YouTube, and I want to verify that Steve is right: the gears still come. One of our greatest talents. You can’t watch him and not have your heart open.
My mom had Lewy Body Dementia. It was heartbreaking to watch her decline. She would never have killed herself, ( and I am not condemning him for doing so) but it nearly killed us to watch her suffer and die. RIP Robin.

A: Robin Williams.
Q: If you could pick anybody from all of human history to have a private dinner with, who would it be?

He disliked Popeye but gods he WAS Popeye! And yes, I still cry because he was a shining star amongst us.
