I once got a dime after the previous tooth netted a quarter. The next tooth netted – nothing. I complained and my mother said the TF was maybe delayed and to try again that night. I did and netted a Franklin half dollar.
I learned from that incident that it pays to complain.

when I was a kid, my dad wrote the coolest Tooth Fairy notes and signed them “Glenda, the Tooth Fairy”.

I guess I missed this “note” part of the tooth fairy experience. I got the quarter but never a note.
