This strip reminds me of a girl I knew a long time ago who was quite pretty and a very sharp dresser. I complimented her a few times about her outfit and always got a reply on the order of “oh, this old thing?” I soon stopped complimenting her.
This is a very old repeat from when GPS was much newer tech.
If you want people to stop complimenting you then, by all means, say something like “oh, this old thing?” THAT, is a definite turn off.
