I kinda sorta remember where this is going. I see a teardrop. Passing notes was an artform when I was in high school. I got caught only once out of a bazillion times. That was because the recipient sneezed and missed the pass.
I thought the note was going to say, “Dear Jessica. I LOVE you! Signed, Calvin.” Thus embarrassing and humiliating Calvin, while getting him into trouble all at the same time!
Susie is not necessarily smarter, just more politically astute. After Calvin gets caught for beating the living daylights out of her, he will be punished beyond understanding, which is what she was angling for to begin with. Sic transit gloria mundi….
You’d better watch out, Calvin! Because you know what happens to squealers? Especially if they get the person they’re squealing on in a bunch of real trouble? They get beaten up school on their way home! And Susie looks like the kind of girl that wouldn’t have much of a problem taking you down either!!!!!
My grandfather was once a teacher. One day, he noticed someone passing a note. It read “Sir, your fly is down”.Unfortunately for him, out of force of habit, he read it out loud before realising his mistake…
Middle schoolers don’t really pass notes any more. They text instead. These’s a kid who sits next to me during language arts, and he texts during class all the time. He’s never been caught.
