I was sitting on the patio this aft when I noticed the air to my left was brown. Hmm is it a fire somewhere? Yep. Mt. Charleston is on fire! And we had 40 mph winds today. I hope I can get out for my walk tomorrow. And of course it is only affecting the far north west corner of the valley where I live!
Well, I don’t need waffles or anything almond buttercrunch, because last night, I gave in to temptation. I was at the Kwik Trip gas station buying milk, It’s just $1.99 a gallon there (on sale) and it’s $2.52 a gallon at Walmart. Well, of course, right in front of the checkouts, they have their bakery stuff. I LOVE their glazer donuts and it’s been many months (maybe even a year or more) since I’ve had them. They were on sale, so I bought some. Now I have to try not to eat them all in one day. LOL I don’t know how much longer their milk will be that cheap, but I’m guessing it will go back up in July. June is Dairy Month, so that might be why milk is on sale.
My older sister got angry and said she was running away and never coming back. I followed, far behind, just to see where she would go. She ran half way down the block and realized she was clueless and came home all embarrassed. I thought it was so hilarious. I still do.
Unfortunately, Chesney probably won’t be gone for long. (By the way, when is Chesney NOT in a bad mood?) On another note, saw a junco, eight robins, a dragonfly, a Wilson’s warbler, a millipede, and a rabbit while out walking today.
When I went to the barn this afternoon to get equine senior food for Tinkerbelle, it was a mess. Must have been a contingent of raccoons in there last night. They tore open two bags of cat food and scattered horse feed everywhere. Other barrels overturned and they tried to get into my latching totes full of bandages and medicines. The saddest part was that Tinker had just gone back to the barn yesterday after 6 days living under the magnolia trees after the pig herd terrorized her. She was back under the tree when I got up this morning. Dang raccoons must have made a lot of noise…well metal trash cans and lids hitting concrete would make a lot of noise.
