Seems a legitimate question to me.

That’s why I can never visit England, Ireland, Scotland or Wales. According to my father our ancestors came to Canada about 1/2 step ahead of the hangman’s noose for cattle rustling and horse stealing back in the 1700’s and 1800’s. I’m probably wanted under half a dozen different last names for their crimes.

’Tiz said that I have an ancestor who died at a public gathering when the platform collapsed beneath his feet.

I’ve learned that my ancestors were exiled to the Island of Madeira from the Portuguese mainland for some transgression.

I was told by family that some of my ancestors were pirates off the coast of Sicily. I’ve never actually tried to go to Italy, but I hope they aren’t still waiting to arrest people with my maiden name! (If I go, I’ll be sure to use my married name, lol).
