my daughter told her mom recently that she was afraid that if she (her mom) died first that she would never see her dad (me) again because she was sure I would go off to the mountains or wilderness and live where there were no people. funny how my daughter knows me so well. solitude can be found in the midst of noise just as one can be lonely in a crowd of people, but it isn’t as easy.
