Scott handled that situation a lot better than I would have. For a boss or manager to say that indicates they think either they are superhuman, with a god complex, or you are subhuman, not entitled to your own opinion, or likely, both.
Possible follow-up to panel 3: “This IS my way of getting that working. Once you think how I want, you’ll do what I want.” “If I ever catch myself thinking how you want, I’ll ask someone for a swift kick.”
