I’ve always wanted a monocle, but with a magnifying glass for the lens. That way I could look for clues with my good eye while I was waiting for other stuff to happen! Like, say, while I was waiting for a bus.
The ultrasound is rather soothing because the gel is cool. But the dr. still hasn’t been able to tell my eyeball’s gender (bah dump bump). The procedure described in the first bubble of the third panel is called a vitrectomy. I’ve had it done twice in the past 6 months (same eye). It is not soothing. But if it works (and after an injection to reduce retinal swelling), the result is quite miraculous. I am attempting to recover from the most recent procedure.
