I remember the first pair of shoes I was allowed to pick out for myself. They were “Penny Loafers.” I would stare at them on my feet for, it seemed like, hours.
When I got my ears pierced, I was about 45. I thought they looked as good as earrings on a cow. After a while I got used to them and I started having fun coordinating the flower in my hair, my earrings and the top I was wearing.
