We’ve been buying a gourmet meal about once a week, (we go pick it up, since we live out of town a bit). It’s been both pleasant and worthwhile to support our local eateries.

In America they try to ship gourmet meals, usually with not so appetizing results.

Well, they could use there old commute time to learn how to cook…. it’s actually not that hard and there are plenty of shows on cable that’ll help you out…. That said, there is something to be said for having something cooked in foreign manner…… There always seems to be at least one ingredient missing in the American recipe…. like nutmeg in red Thai curry….

To me, any meal I don’t have to cook is a gourmet meal. I’ve been ordering different things about every 2 weeks, trying out different restaurants (want to support them), order a couple of full-sized dishes, usually freeze some of it and eat well for about 10 or so days.
