Once your pet owns you, it will learn all about you.

My uncle, in Italy in the 1960s, worked 8 miles from home. He went to work with a kind of tricycle with a cubic body to transport bulky things. He had no time to go home but, every day, the dog Leo (a fox) “felt” his master arrive; he made the door open and ran down the stairs to meet him jumping into the bin 3 miles away.Nobody has ever understood how he was so “sensitive” except for the love that bound them.

Friend was a trucker. His dog, at home, would sense when he was 1/2 hour away from home and sit at the window waiting for his arrival.

My cat knew the theme song of the 10 O’Clock news being over. He would jump down off the couch and head on into the bedroom because it was time to go to bed. And if I didn’t follow in about 5 minutes he’d come back to get me.

Never underestimate the learning capability of any Canine-American. And yes, they can be multilingual.

    Oh, yeah! I’d almost forgotten:

Having you children read out loud to you and y’all’s pets will make them better public speakers. They’ll be more confident in what they can do. And of course the pets will adore all of the attention (AND get smarter!).

Every dog owner: Thanks for all your wonderful stories. My last English Springer Spaniel, Samantha (Sammie), died almost a year ago and she was as smart as all the stories that were told. : )
