This current con is truly one of his best. He will not take control, passing off responsibility to governors. This way, he cannot be blamed no matter what happens. If the governors keep people home, he will not be blamed for economic disaster, and since the outbreak will therefore be less widespread, Trump TV can say that the threat was less than presented all along.
If the governors open their states poorly and haphazardly, which seems likely given what some have already said, there will be a resulting swell of cases in a couple weeks (see New Orleans after Mardi Gras, 2020). Again, Trump is blameless because it was the governor who made the decision.
Now here comes the fun part: he really, really, really wants to make the economy bounce back better than anyone has ever seen it done in the history of humanity, and so he’s ready to sacrifice as many humans as necessary to get the money flowing. He has his propogandists organize to “liberate” states which are holding fast to their stay-at-home orders.
The right thing for him to say at this time is something along the lines of, “I can certainly understand your frustration and your eagerness to return to normal, but your protests are really not helping and may be hurting. Be assured we’re doing everything we can to make this a safe transition.”
Problem solved.
I’m kidding, of course.
Instead he loves the fact that people love him and purposefully does not discourage them in any way, just telling them that he notices their adoration, which will incite them to become more reckless.
These people are being manipulated to be willing to die or spread the disease in order to help Trump win in November. His willingness to encourage this shows without doubt the final stage of the evolution of the Republican party into the depths of cynicism and cruelty.
I am still waiting for Trumps total break with reality, which seems closer after his stupid remarks about Lysol. I believe that his Fronotemporal dementia is getting worse. #Trump has FTD
