    So sad that these forward-thinking, compassionate and wise people are so outnumbered by the greedy, polluting, earth-abusing pr**ks of the world.

    A lovely medium sized (5 X 7 photo frame size) box turtle crawled through my yard yesterday morning, quite a few years old I’d guess by the size, probably on his/her way to the creek that runs a ways behind my house. There were three leeches attached to its shell, which I removed…last one was really stubborn. I wished him/her well and watched it resume its journey once I left it alone. It actually made pretty good time for such a low-to-the ground creature. I get the feeling it was a female heading to the sandy ground near the creek to lay eggs.
