I have always considered myself to be a swinger. But…I too usually strike out.

If at first you don’t succeed, adapt the game plan.

Is this a version of Calvin Ball ???

margueritem, did you know they’re longer known as Easter eggs? The politically correct amongst us have now labeled them as “spring spheres”.

@gocomo: I suspect the eggs are Russian, and marge didn’t actually make them herself. Still lovely though ;)

Calvin: If you can’t hit the target, get a bigger target. Or a bigger bat!

I agree with Calvin’s logic here… and following his arc, I think that golf should be played with rocket launchers

This strip reminds of a Kenny Rogers song I think call the Slugger. Were a boy is playing ball himself and keeps striking himself out. Very detailed song.

I have really enjoyed the different colored eggs each day.

Actually, Calvin, that is NOT a good idea. The bigger the ball, the bigger the rebound of the bat. According to the laws of physics, that bat is going to bounce back and hit poor Calvin right in the head!

The greater the MASS of the item being struck, the greater the “rebound”, but a beachball doesn’t actually have a much greater mass than the baseball. However, it does take longer absorbing the strike (hit) which creates a few other little problems, such as the smaller amount of force applied over a greater distance will, indeed, create a greater sensation of rebound. Anyway, yep.

Calvin’s response reminds me of the tennis racket industry making bigger ones for people who were having trouble hitting tennis balls with the smaller rackets…

Thanks, Marg! Eggs by your neighbor, IIRC? And is it like Burgundy2’s technique? Sounds like batik with the wax; ah, here it is again; Google Pysanky for many more ideas.
