A couple of days ago I had a visiting mockingbird attacking its reflection in a window. Kept at it for a long time.

Any responder deserves recognition….poor tweetie!

Sadly, yesterday at an outdoor plaza, a Brown Thrasher was dead on the sidewalk because it flew into a store window.

I feel sorry for the bird.

Sometimes responders can’t save them.

Awwww…..

Poor chick – Get her back in to the next Red

All manner of things happen to baby birds. That’s life.

I just learned recently from a bird rehab expert that the bird parents won’t abandon a chick that has been put back into the nest. Another old wive’s tale put to rest.

Awe! You guys are the most sensitive little ones! They say if you save one little bird, you have fulfilled your purpose on Earth. But I think Red and Rover will do many times that!

I wonder what Rover would do if that were a baby squirrel?

I like the theme, but I wouldn’t be my pedantic self if I didn’t point out that the term “first responder” wasn’t in use in the 1970’s.

Ooohhhh….

I forgot to mention that we had a groundhog that would do the same thing to that window.
