It really doesn’t matter who is the Democratic nominee, as he will be in a position to appoint a competent administration of people who actually know how to get things done, who can think and read, and are familiar with science and reality in general. The big point is that, given the ages of Ginsburg and Breyer, we MUST have a Democratic president to prevent the complete takeover of the Supreme Court by the Federalist mafia.

Saw Joe on MSNBC last night (might have been CNN) and he finally gave a speech worthy of a leader. Again, it will be put upon the shoulders of the Democrats to right the ship, hopefully, or, if the election goes against them, it will probably be another Titanic !

Trump could probably make a very nice face mask from his vast collection of Adderall labels…..

I’m already signed up to vote absentee ballot – for both the primary and the general election this year. So that last square – check!

Within 14 days of voting, many Wisconsin voters speak: “Cough cough cough cough cough”

It’s good to remember that if this election goes the way Russia wants — not that they would attack it or anything — if this election goes the way Putin and Trump want, it will be our last free election.

^ As an example to the above, it will not matter how many Inspectors General will be fired by Trump. There will be no function for any of them.

‘Fascism is eyeing this republic like lunch’: Expert warns Trump attack on Inspectors General is ‘late-stage corruption’

President Donald Trump has fired two top Inspectors General since Friday, and freely admitted Tuesday he is targeting for firing at least seven of the federal government’s key watchdogs.

The press largely ignored Trump’s brazen admission, but he clearly said Tuesday he intends to “change” out even decades-long veteran Inspectors General, with less-qualified ones loyal to him.

This election is important all the way down to the state and local levels. In 2010, there were a lot of Dems that didn’t go to the polls because they thought there wasn’t enough improvement in the economy and many thought there was too much focus on passing ACA. At least that is what I heard here and on other message boards from people that said they were not going to vote. This led to Republicans sweeping the state legislatures so they got to format districts since that was a census year just like this one. Wisconsin is a prime example since the Dems got 205K more votes in 2018 but the Repubs got 27 more seats.

You don’t have to be a supporter of Trump, and I’m certainly not, to believe that unless Biden has some remarkable rejuvenation, Trump will destroy him in debate. What’s a popular internet meme right now? The only thing progressive about Joe Biden is his dementia.

Dutifully performing its role in a highly-choreographed display of political theater, Russia’s highest court on Monday approved constitutional changes that opened the way for President Vladimir V. Putin to crash through term limits and stay in power through 2036.With a dense 52-page ruling clogged with legalese, the Constitutional Court removed one of the last, albeit very flimsy potential obstacles to Mr. Putin effectively becoming president for life.A final hurdle to be crossed is a nationwide referendum on constitutional changes that is scheduled for April 22. That exercise, too, is little more than a formality because of the Kremlin’s tight grip on the news media and bodies responsible for organizing the vote, not to speak of a ban on public protests.

The first time Putin and Trump met was in Germany. President Trump took his interpreter’s notes afterward and ordered him not to disclose what he heard to anyone. Later that night, at a dinner, Mr. Trump pulled up a seat next to President Vladimir V. Putin to talk without any American witnesses at all.Their third encounter was in Vietnam when Mr. Trump seemed to take Mr. Putin’s word that he had not interfered in American elections. A formal summit meeting followed in Helsinki, Finland, where the two leaders kicked out everyone but the interpreters. Most recently, they chatted in Buenos Aires after Mr. Trump said they would not meet because of Russian aggression.Mr. Trump has adamantly insisted there was “no collusion” with Russia during his 2016 presidential campaign. But each of the five times he has met with Mr. Putin since taking office, he has fueled suspicions about their relationship. The unusually secretive way he has handled these meetings has left many in his own administration guessing what happened and piqued the interest of investigators.“What’s disconcerting is the desire to hide information from your own team,” said Andrew S. Weiss, who was a Russia adviser to President Bill Clinton. “The fact that Trump didn’t want the State Department or members of the White House team to know what he was talking with Putin about suggests it was not about advancing our country’s national interest but something more problematic.”
