Today is:

National Beer Day. I don’t drink beer, but would root beer do?

National No Housework Day. Well if I don’t do some housework on my days off, I’ll never get any housework done. So let’s say I celebrated this a day early – I didn’t do housework yesterday.

National Coffee Cake Day. I have not eaten coffee cake in AGES!!! When I was a kid, we liked coffee cake with hot cocoa instead.

I refuse to live in fear of Covid-19! I’m going to work and even putting in some overtime hours. I figure more people won’t get it than how many will get it. And 80% of people who do get it have very mild symptoms – so mild some don’t even know they have it. So, I worked an extra long shift on Sunday (12 hours!) and today, my day off, I plan on going in to work in the evening for a few hours. It’s supposed to be a warm day, so I want to spend some time outside (I hope the rain holds off), but I think by 6:00, I’ll be ready to go inside and get ready to go to work. I’m only planning on working from about 7:00 pm to 11:00. I’m doing it mostly for the money (overtime is rarely offered at Walmart) but also because we are very short staffed. A lot of people are taking off the 2 weeks (unpaid) that we are allowed. I won’t take 2 weeks off without pay. I can’t afford to do that. If I do get the virus (I hope I don’t and I don’t expect to), then I will take the 2 weeks off with pay. I would have to test positive in order to get paid. I’m doing what I can to stay safe, but I refuse to live in fear.

I’ll be voting in person for our primary election today too.

Oh, yeah – Chesney’s a goner, all right.
