Back to beanie-weenies for the table. At least chocolate cake still tastes like liver.

And that’s why Miles is friends with Kevin. He knows things! And sometimes he’s right.

My parents always tried to pass liver off as Swiss steak when we were growing up. Still can’t stand fried liver although I discovered that braunschweiger on rye with lots of onions and mustard is quite yummy at about Miles and Kevin’s age and is heavenly with a good beer.

This was a clever lie. Fried liver and pan-fried steak can smell the same when cooking.

That was me as child. But my parents didn’t need to lie – I didn’t like any of the “tasty” meats: steak, pork chops, roast, or ham. Thank goodness I grew out of that silly stage!

Had liver once, didn’t like it. It was more the texture that threw me off. Despite that, I LOVED scrapple as well as chitlins… until I was about 10, when I found out what they both were.

I like liver and onions, just have to watch the tenderness of the liver
