    Do you do stupid things?

    Define stupid.

Hoarding TP or perishables like inhalators that I don’t need? No.

If I didn’t do stupid things how would I learn from them?

I am asked to help by my friends, a lot. They have seen me in action and know how much I’ve learned over the years. Only had to deal with a broken ankle, but the punctures, rips, smashes have been uncountable. The highlight is that I tough it out to the very end. Long learning curve.

I was about 55 years old when I was helping my brother move, and I came across my old skateboard that I gave to my nephews. I carried it out to the road in front of his house and started down the extremely steep hill. It didn’t take but a moment, and I was going way too fast to jump off. There was nothing I could do except lean into it and go down the hill. I thought, what the hell was I thinking. I reached the bottom of the hill and started to go up the next hill where it finally slowed to a stop. I haven’t touched one since.

Do I do stupid things? Well I’ve never told anyone this before. And I’m not telling now!

That was good teaching experience Pete sacrificed his body for. Now the kids know the importance of wearing protective gear. Well that and doing it right.
