I’m going to show my prejudice, I think all republicans should stay in the closet. No one wants them to publicly display their political affections.

The more they’re tempted by something they see as wrong, the more likely they are to support laws against it.

I don’t believe in hate crimes, just crimes. Blind justice. If you rob an old lady on the street, I could care less if you did it because of her race, her religion, her age or because you just needed drugs and she was handy or she was your great aunt and didn’t give you a candy bar once. The punishment should be the same for the same crime regardless of motivation.

Just more proof that most raving Homophobes are actually deeply closeted Gays and Lesbians themselves. Usually they were screwed up by family pressure or the fire and brimstone bulls#!t fed to them by their churches when they were young. Just think how much happier they would be if they just were honest with themselves and everyone else, and came out of their closets and ENJOYED WHO THEY REALLY ARE!

I oppose government recognition of gay marriage because I want government out of marriage, period. Straight, gay, trans, whatever. Having the government regulate whom we may and may not marry as adults is nowhere in the Constitution. Whether the rules on marriage be based in religion or not, government has no right or business making those decisions.

We don’t need expensive divorce courts handing out unfair/random judgments and assessing property rights. Especially when MY taxes have to pay for it. Court buildings, judges, bailiffs, recorders, utilities and all the other paraphernalia of a modern court system are danged expensive. Let the churches do that. Let gays and trans people form their own church. The First Church of the Iron Codpiece or Steel Vagina or something. I don’t care. Let the church then handle marriages and divorces.

Why? You can always leave one church for another (unless you’re a Muslim in which case they will kill you) but try living in the USA and “leaving” the US government and state governments and see what happens. Ruby Ridge would be a wake up call, with FBI snipers murdering a woman holding a baby in her arms. Some threat, wasn’t she?

Or just have a civil union with the rights and prenup and all spelled out in a binding contract beforehand. As long as government isn’t getting into our bedrooms and judging who we may and may not love as consenting adults. I am not gay, but I don’t care if you are. If you are not bothering me or costing me money, whom you bang is your business as long as it is between consenting adults.
