It’s bad enough to break up with someone and break their heart, but Ted is even lower to dump Connie after he’s impregnated her. What a lowlife cowardly POS!

No, it’s Anne that’s pregnant, not Connie. I think it was probably a bit of misleading on both sides. Ted probably made it seem he was much more into her than he really was, just so he could have fun for a while. Then when she fell for him, it was too serious for him and he dumped her. But it was probably a cinch to get her to fall for him because she wants badly to fall for someone. A disaster waiting to happen…

Connie’s desparation clouded her brain, she should have saw this coming. Why buy the cow when the milk is free.

I think that Ted said it right and I hope that John gets it……Ted never made any “promises”. Connie just imagined them because she’s so desperate to get married. Why do some of us always want the one who doesn’t want us?

I don’t know if this strip will still be in existence by the time Michael is an adult and has the Jewish landlady or, if it still will be, I may not be alive to comment then. I meant to correct Lynn at the time the pet rabbit died and Michael’s landlady had a recipe for the rabbit in the freezer.

So, I’ll say it now: Lynn, a traditional Jewish woman would NEVER have a recipe for rabbit. The rabbit is a non-kosher animal.

I wonder why John is surprise at Ted’s latest bit of disgusting behavior. He’s seen it again and again.

Ted is a typical perpetual adolescent, and this culture in spite of or maybe because of the religious nuts, keeps him right where he is.

What a butthead Ted is!!! Just a complete and utter low-life!!!!!

Well, Elly tried to warn Connie about getting involved with that jerk but she just wouldn’t listen. I’m sure she’s heard the stories for years that Elly has told about Ted and his “it’s-all-about-me, the-world-revolves-around-me” attitude towards women, but Connie ignored her advice and got involved with him anyhow. Then he ended up doing to her exactly what he’s always done to every woman he’s ever dated. Hmmmm. Go figure! It would be funny if it weren’t so sad … especially since she drug her son along on this painful ride with her. Ted didn’t just make “promises” to Connie and then broke her heart … his thoughtless, uncaring cruelty was extended to poor Lawrence, too, who didn’t have a choice in the matter either way. That’s the part that’s so sad regarding this whole mess.

Why is John friends with this jerk anyhow?!?

My thanks to lightenup and howtheduck for setting me straight on who Ted’s been sleeping with. Sorry to everyone else whom I’ve led astray with my mistake. Oh well, it’s only a cartoon.

Ted may be a dog, but Connie is the one who does all the chasing.. remember Phil? Did he ever give the impression that he wanted anything other than a family life?

Connie is chasing the wrong type of man if she wants one that will settle down…

    “You just bit me!”

    “Of course I did–I’m a snake.”

“But you said you wouldn’t bite me!!”

    “Of course I did–what part of I’m a snake don’t you understand?”

What IS it with the readers here who continue under the impression that Ted got Connie pregnant? We’ve had this discussion before.

As near as I can figure, Ted’s office is right near John’s. IIRC, Ted is a family practitioner. They wind up leaving work together at night, or some odd kind of male bonding like that.

Methinks there are a lot of people here who need to re-read the cast of characters…

Connie (was dating Ted) = Not Pregnant http://www.gocomics.com/forbetterorforworse/2011/03/07/

Anne (married to Steve) = Pregnant http://www.gocomics.com/forbetterorforworse/2011/02/25/

I think some of us are much too eager to blame the victim. I don’t see where Connie has done anything particularly wrong – except fall for the wrong guy (ok, again). He is the nasty one, not her - and that has always been the case, not just in romance.

Let’s get it straight. Ted is a jerk. Ted is not a a-hole. Sure, he might have led Connie on. However, Connie likely wanted it to be everything more than it was, maybe even something like Elly has with John. However, what we don’t know is … did Connie and Ted ever have any serious talk of the direction of their relationship? Modern relationships are all about talk. The more you exchange thoughts and ideas, and plan for certain goals, than maybe each find purpose in the other. NOTE: I’m just unloading after coming out of a 15 year marriage. Luckily for me, tho, there were no children involved, and she and I are still friends.
