Biden needs to just pause – flash the pearls – and give himself a moment to compose an answer before he speaks. He’s personable enough (and his supporters will forgive a lesser gaff) to make it work. Getting caught on tape/video saying something insulting to potential voters that will come back to bite him later is not a good look.
He’s not in my top 4 picks. But he’s light years ahead of the Trumpist foregone conclusion candidate. Whoever ends up being the Democratic candidate should have the vote of all the Democrats, though the right wingers and the employees of Putin et al will surely try to divide them if at all possible.
There are more people of color in Charleston or Vegas than in NH and IA put together. We’ll see if Bernie’s momentum can be maintained in less lily white territory.
Of course, that’s still no guarantee that the voters in NV and SC won’t leapfrog Joe for Liz Warren or Bloomberg.
