Bad dog owners, bad!

I’ve done the first item in the past. You do that with the felines here and they don’t care. They weren’t going to run anywhere anyway.

Oh yeah? Come here, doggies. Now hold these “We barked all night and made everyone lose their sleep” signboards.

Is pet food from Asia worthy of shaming?

Shelters are a great place to find a dog. Infinite variety. And there are other dogs too! :-D

Getting it from the pet shop just means you don’t get one that experienced the trauma of a shelter.. cuts out the middle man.

The car ride deal is my guilt trip!

Why is it when a dog is riding in a car they like to stick their head out the window but you can’t blow in their face?

I dunno, you might get lucky with a shelter dog, but it seems a lot of them are there because they have issues, quite possibly due to previous mistreatment, but it tends to have a lasting effect, they can be quite difficult. On the other hand a pup can be brought up and trained how you want. (hopefully that will be in a proper manner with the dog’s well being as a part of it)

I always get my dogs and cats from shelters or other rescues and they are always as adults. They start with some baggage but after a while they know things are better and are grateful as well as loving. Contrary to popular belief, true shelters and (as opposed to private people claiming to be rescues but in it for the money) are not bad places. They have the welfare of the animal at heart. If you get a puppy or kitten from a shelter they have no clue so are fine and can be trained as you wish.

Our dog never has fetched. He looks at me as if to say “You threw it. You go gets it.” BUT, he does bring his dish into the kitchen when I ask. A fine sense of priorities going on in that head of his.

I mean … but don’t puppies in pet shops still need forever homes??

How about: “Instead of taking my dog for a walk, I just hooked him to a zip line in the back yard.”

I found my boy, Chance, at a pet store, by accident. Took my 8 yr old grandson in to get fish food. We were just looking around, (he already had a dog at home), and there he was! Standing up wagging his tail! Jack Russell-Boston Terrier mix. I had not even thought about getting a dog. Best 14 years of my life. His picture with his favorite toy is my screensaver. He’s been gone 4 years, and I still miss him.I had always said getting a rescue is the only way to go, but in a way, I did rescue him.
