Thank you everyone for your expressions of sympathy about my dear sweet Dolly. Her death came so fast – just 3 weeks after I found the lump on her head so it’s hard to come to terms with it. Here is a picture of her for anyone who hasn’t seen her picture yet. This was taken soon after I got her 11 years ago.
That trip we were trying to plan to the Grand Tetons and Jellystone just didn’t pan out. All of the hotels around Jackson were obscenely overpriced. Instead, we’re going up to Reno, Virginia City, Carson City and Tahoe – all places Brad and I have been to but my sister has not. I just love that area at that time of year. (Late Sept/early Oct) There are so many historical places to see and so much to do…we’re excited about it.
@tadi . . Less than an hour ago, upon returning from doggie walk, I heard unusual chirp, looked at a bird feeder and saw that red headed woodpecker! I was really close to it but still unable to capture a picture in time.
Don’t worry, Oliver, everything’s alright. (Although Chesney should give you back your ball.) On another note, saw a towhee, a varied thrush, a chickadee, a wren, and a woodpecker outside today. Put some birdseed out for them. Saw a bit of blue sky while out walking today, which was a nice change of pace from the usually cloudy sky.

Today is:
National Dress Up Your Pet Day. No. I would never even think about dressing up my cats. I like the way they’re dressed already with those fur coats.
Ratification Day
National Shop For Travel Day. Since I don’t travel, I’m saved from that one.
National Hot Pastrami Sandwich Day. If I have a sandwich at all today, I can guarantee it WON’T be hot pastrami.
