It won’t work anyway: He’s already in. And it takes pull (which equals money in many cases) to get put on stateside duty. Though of course, the odds are that any given soldier has more honor than Cadet Bone Spurs has ever had, and will thus be unwilling to walk away from his team.
I agree with “Concretionist” that no soldier would dream of using such a tired and trite excuse to get out of duty – the lad pointing to his “bone spurs” was obviously being sarcastic.
We may make fun of Donnie John and his medically suspicious “bone spurs”, but I for one am happy he got a deferment, I would have hated to have him sharing a rice paddy with me – heaven only knows how many of us he’d have gotten killed with his innate and overweening stupidity.
After the GOP assaults on the Affordable Care Act, the government needed a place to dump really STUPID people. WELCOME to the REPUBLICAN PARTY! STUPIDITY is our game. And we’re “good” at it.
Bone spurs are very common… I have them, and wouldn’t have even known I had them unless I had a foot x-ray for another reason. It wouldn’t have kept me from being drafted, but my eye problems would have!

Uh folks today are staying on active duty using prosthetic limbs, don’t think a bone spur will work for active duty folks.

More like psychological issues but hopefully these would have disqualified him from even getting in.

Why would you go to war to support the vicious lying coward Republican president who demeans the military every chance he gets?

Speaking of the military and speaking of “Beetle Bailey” characters, WHOEVER follows Trump will be a Plato compared to his Zero.
