If you want better teachers pay them more. And treat them with respect. Make it so people line up to fill out applications for the job. Teaching should be so well respected that people become engineers, lawyers or doctors if they can’t cut it.
Interesting analogy. That it can prove difficult if not impossible to get rid of bad teachers (every profession has its share of useless/bad/whatever members) is a real sore point with me.The unions blame the curriculum. The head office type blames the teachers. Everybody blames the kids.Wonder if that would work in an explosives factory?
