Our son was about 8 when he asked about the birds and the bees. We used a Dr. Spock book to explain. When we were finished and asked if he had questions, he said, " I like Grandma’s story of the cabbage patch, better".

This is an easy one. Give them a demonstration. After that experience, neither of them can possibly become pregnant until middle age.
