    Good use of a hard as rock apple. Tossed a handful of pears one time. They never did soften.

    I have some bananas one time that stayed green for over a month. They finally just dried up before they actually turn ripe LOL

    Put unripe fruit in a sealed container to get it to ripen. If there is an apple which is ripe or ripening then the rate of ripening will be faster.

    Some prefer to use a closed paper bag. I usually use a plastic container if the fruit is very unripe.
