I don’t think the iconography is right. The current situation in the senate is more like “the ghost of Christmas Future”. Especially if more people catch on to the sleazy nature of McConnell’s statements and to the idea that witnesses are in fact required.
Shame we can’t have a US Senate anymore. The Ky-Mcconnell Senate doesn’t abide by the rules found in the US Constitution, it seems. I guess the members of Congress really are not adult enough to make their rules within the domain and range of the US Constitution and have to regress to a primitive tribal “self-serving” set of rules rather than the “public-serving” set that mature adults would utilize.

The editorial cartoon is implying that the Congress is “done” with impeachment, which is inaccurate at best and wrong at worst.
The House of Representatives has done ITS JOB of impeaching the most corrupt and openly criminal president in modern times.
It is now up to the Senate to CONVICT the aforementioned president of those “high crimes and misdemeanors”!
Since a sizable portion of the Senate was actively aiding and abetting those crimes and misdemeanors, I’m not holding my breath.
