My two siblings and I didn’t really have this problem on account of we had each-other to play with, rather than needing to drag our parents into it.
Kid, can’t you play with your imaginary playmate for a while? You can use mine if you like.
My sister and I weren’t inclined to role-play our video game characters. Why bother when we could just play the video games?
