Everyone who pushed for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan should be banned from the political arena.

Another reason to give thanks to Bush. There existed a golden opportunity to build water purification plants, schools, etc., after the Taliban was neutralized — thereby creating a very loyal ally in the Middle East and screwing up Iran’s plans to attack America and Israel.

Instead, Bush The Decider decided that he could get away with conquering Iraq and establishing American hegemony. As a bonus, 4500 American soldiers died, tens of thousands were casualties — mental, as well as physical — hundreds of thousands of Iraqs died, and the entire Middle East hates us more than they do Russia or each other.

All governments lie to their people about all their wars. If governments were required to tell the truth about wars, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, war would cease.
