When I got out of the Army, my wife and I had our household goods shipped to New Mexico. I was told by the person who made those arrangements that the US Army did NOT ship household goods to a foreign country for those “leaving the service.” I had to explain New Mexico was a state, had been since 1912 and was situated between Texas and Arizona and south of Colorado. She still insisted my household goods could not be shipped to a foreign country (although they were sent overseas with us…). It wasn’t until I went to the post library and got a map that she reluctantly agreed New Mexico was in the United States.

Wow, north of White Plains! My wife lived in White Plains when we met. Now WE live north of it.

I suppose that this is a minor improvement over driving the moving van into a lake.
