I have a friend in Newport News, Larry McBride, who had and probably still has the fastest bike in the 1/4 mile. He has dismounted his bike a few times while going in excess of 160 mph; so he is pretty fearless. He owned a motorcycle repair shop, yet he always drove a car to my office. I asked him one day, why he never drives a bike. He said,“They’re too dangerous;” one of the main reasons why I decided to never ride a motorcycle again. I figured if this guy is scared, I should be scared.
I had my motorcycle before I got married. After a few years my first wife made me sell it. Second, present, wife and I have been riding together for years. Going to tackle the Trans-Can Highway from Vancouver to Regina and back next summer.
