The Current Occupant’s mascot should be a Wood Tick.
It doesn’t really do anything useful, it is only carried along by others, sucks blood, is hard as hell to get rid of, and is REALLY annoying, since once you DO get rid of it, it takes a long time for the wound to heal!
So, what would Warren Harding be? A drunken, unfaithful lapdog of the rich? Calvin Coolidge a wealthy-worshiping saint? Herbert Hoover a clueless canary in a coal mine?
William Howard Taft had a pet cow, named Pauline Wayne, when he was in the White House. Yes, a pet cow. Pauline Wayne became a celebrity in her own right and used to appear in person … uh, in cow … at agricultural fairs and the like.
(Footnote: I don’t know why Pauline’s surname was not Taft.)

I always wondered if one day I would see William Howard Taft attacked by a possum.
Today is the day.

I have nothing much against opossums, but I wish they would quit trying to get at my Sloth Station.
