Thank you to all the veterans… Those of us who have never been in a war theater… We can never know how much you have sacrificed for our freedom. Thank you

Thank a vet, sure. But also vote for politicians whose policies aren’t anti-vet. Most GOP, for instance talk pro vet (just like they talk “pro life”) but they act as though spending money to support veterans takes away from the more important tax breaks for their 1% masters.

. . . I like to joke that “I fought the Vietnam War, behind the lines, in Indiana, with Dan Quayle!” Though, I enlisted during that era, women were not sent in combat, unless they were nurses. So, I was never issued a weapon. My two brothers served in the Army, I married an enlisted man, who had two brothers, who also served in the Army. I was told that my father, had served in the military, though when I researched his military history, I discovered that he was never in the military, though actually a contractor, working for Pan Am on a Navy contract, overseas in Asia with the SeaBees, during WWII. He was an airplane mechanic and met my mother, on the “wing of an airplane”. Before he passed away, he was an “Airplane Mechanic Instructor” for Boeing. He would have been 100 years old, this month! I sometimes wonder, since he passed away before computers were used on aircraft, how he would feel about Boeing and their problems, today? :)

I did. I sent a sizable donation to three today. All of them veteran combat pilots. Two were helicopter pilots, wounded in battle, one grievously (we’re talking traumatic amputations), the other a Marine Aviator, a Major and two Lieutenant Colonels, one an incumbent Senator and all of them Moms.
