My whole family like to cook. My son, who used to be a chef, likes to cook as well, but his tag line is: “Get out of my kitchen!” Even when he’s at my place. For some reason though, he has no problem with me being in the kitchen when its time to clean up.
It’s the infomercials pushing some appliance or cookbook that makes it look too easy. The one that got me was a Crock Pot Dump Meals cookbook. “Just throw it in and forget it!” Well, I forgot about the cookbook real quick.

I’ve often thought the same thing while watching a cooking show. The cleanup definitely takes the joy out of the joy of cooking.
