He could just get some body sculpting with liposuction. Ads for that, in conjunction with Leafguard, seem to be paying for the noon news these days.

Our adopted sweetheart Cali was a pretty hefty kitty when we first got her. She had a heart condition (HCM) so with the help of her vet she went on a diet. Some people think fat pets are cute but it was sad to see her struggle to groom herself and even walking was a chore.

Over the next two years she slowly lost the weight and became a slim, gorgeous cat with all of the “tortitude” one would expect from a Tortoiseshell kitty. I miss that girl every single day.

That sure had to be a hefty kitty for sure! If any of my cats rolled back the scale 50 pounds, they’d pass by the zero and their weights would be in the upper 200’s (I think the scale goes up to 300, but I haven’t stepped on it in a long while, so I could be wrong). Now if I rolled the scale back 50 pounds, I’d be closer to what I should weigh – maybe even slightly underweight.

    Today is:

Veteran’s Day. Thank you to all our veteran’s for your service to our country. And don’t forget – no mail today because it’s a national holiday.

It is also National Sundae Day. It’s a little cold for eating ice cream, but I think I can handle it.

On another note, it snowed again today. We’re breaking snow and cold records all over the place and winter has not even officially begun. We didn’t get fall at all. No pretty fall colors – the trees still had leaves on them when we got the snow, then the leaves all turned brown and lots of brown leaves are still clinging to the trees.

For Remembrance Day; for all our loved ones who fought in the wars; and especially for the ones who never came home and are buried on some foreign soil:

In Flanders’ Fields the poppies blow

Between our crosses, row on row,

That mark our place, and in the sky

The larks, still bravely singing, fly,

Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead: short days ago

We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset’s glow

Loved and were loved, and now we lie

    In Flanders’ Fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:

To you, from failing hands, we throw

The torch – be yours to hold it high.

If ye break faith with us who die, we shall not sleep

Though poppies grow in Flanders’ Fields.

My apologies for any errors in punctuation; I remember the words vividly, the punctuation, not so much.

Graham can get the best expressions on his cats. Love this one. Those eyes! And the cute, little white paws.

Take a look at ‘Frazz’ today. I think we all can use that excuse.

Moose was a big boy when he came to us. Then he developed kidney stones and had to have surgery. When he came home, his new food is a urinary care C/D. It helps prevents the stones from coming back. Anyway, he lost all of his extra weight and has been at a normal cat weight ever since. He’s a lot healthier.

I just went back and read your comments about the jewelry suggestions and here are my responses:sereneasakitty: we don’t have anything here like that. However, a friend from Canada is in the same boat as far as nobody wanting her uncle’s things. I’m going suggest this to her.

harryCK: nobody WANTS them. I’m starting to think that if money isn’t involved, people under 30 just are not interested in family things.

Ladykat: since my daughter isn’t in the picture, (her choice, not mine) she’s not an option.

I finally heard from my brother and he doesn’t want them but agreed to ask his son if he did.

If the answer from the nephew is NO, then I think I’ll look into having the onyx made into a necklace and add a diamond chip in the corner. And, maybe ask about melting the other ring down for the setting.

I am now 3 hours into getting my kitchen backsplash tiled. The highly skilled man is Hispanic with almost no English so communication is difficult. He is very impressive. Pictures will be shown later this week.

I, for one, can’t wait to see them! A kitchen renovation isn’t easy. I used to think it would be fun to be an interior designer. I’d get to shop and pick colors, furniture, tile, etc. Then we did the bathrooms. Boy, did my mind change fast! It’s a lot of work deciding on all of those things. I no longer envy professional designers, especially those with difficult clients.

Great poem. My Sister complains that one of her cats is too fat, but he look okay to me. On another note, heard a crow outside today, but I didn’t see one, unfortunately.
