I’ve always found nighttime sirens soothing. It means there are heroes out there doing the job, so I can relax.
I took a pizza to a firehall once just to say thanks. (It was actually for the ambulance drivers who worked out of there, and if I’d thought ahead I would have taken two pizzas. But there were only five of them there, so it worked out.)
