National Donut Day. I love donuts, but I think I’ll pass on that. I’ve been eating enough junk lately without adding donuts to the mix.
National Love Your Red Hair Day. No red hair in my family (at least not among my siblings & me). My dad was a bit disappointed about that because he loved red hair. He said he had red hair when he was a little boy, but it changed color when he got older. He was hoping at least one of his kids would have red hair.
I picked up my prize at work yesterday for winning the pumpkin contest. Everyone who entered got a treat bag (paper lunch sack sized – Halloween print bags) with some cookies and some fun-sized candy bars in it. There were Almond Joy bars in my bag, but I can’t stand coconut, so I left those candy bars in the break room where they were quickly snatched up by people who like them. Then as first prize winner, I had my choice between 2 gift cards – one was for $40 off among a few different restaurants (Olive Garden was one – I don’t remember what the others were) or a card for 5 free cars washes at Kwik Trip gas stations. I don’t eat out at all, so I chose the car wash card. I’m sure I can put that to very good use over the winter.
A triple Zzzzz in honor of cats is perfect. Craig’s tests are all coming back negative, which is NOT what we want. We are waiting on a few obscure fungal tests but it is likely that his oxygen drop when he does anything other than sit is due to the damage from the disease even though the tumors stopped growing months ago. Hoping I can take him home today, he needs to be out of the city and with his little dog.
You might want to have dinner somewhere else, birdie, unless you want to end up as the main course. On another note, saw a chipmunk outside. (Might have been the same chipmunk I saw yesterday.) I also saw a varied thrush while out walking yesterday.
