It’s a flaming hot mess ….the WH that is…..to think maybe some brilliant mind came up with an idea to change the way utilities are run….never gonna happen
The subject is terrible, of course. But may I observe there are at least six good ideas packed into this one cartoon. I appreciate “The Hadesest Place on Earth.” And the Nineth Circle is for those treacherous in life.
I grew up in California. In those days, if a PG&E truck pulled up in front of the house or a PG &E worker came into the backyard you pretty much ignored them they were so trusted. Today not so much. About 30 years ago Wall Street started looking at PG&E has a money machine. What you see today is the result of that. My daughter and my sister are both facing evacuation today as a result of the monetizing of PG&E.
The richest person (not according to Forbes but according to FACTS) on Earth is Vlad Putin. Yet somehow I don’t think he would want to buy a utility when he already owns TWO countries (and Ukraine is on the way……..)
California, the worlds 6th largest economy. California, the hottest spot (that folks in the US recognize) for climate change troubles. California: The state that will drive home the need to do something about it? One may hope that, finally, we may get moving.
When the Spanish arrived in the Los Angeles basin, the natives were already calling it “the smokey place”, because fires were common to the landscape, but not as severe and didn’t have houses to burn.(shake roofs don’t help)
