It may appear that it’s made of “inert” rock, but the Earth is a living thing. It “created” life and life created it.
The early Earth was uninhabitable to the creatures of today; it had a toxic atmosphere that had to be transformed over billions of years by the simplest of God’s creatures into the air we breathe today.
And that air would not be here if the “inert” rocks were not subject to plate tectonics. It gives us a molten core that generates the magnetic field that shields the Earth from the deadliest parts of the sun’s radiation.
We should not be living ON the Earth; we should be living WITH the Earth.
No, I am not a tree-hugger, I just read a lot of science literature and try to use the brain God gave me.

The patches on Brother Leo’s tunic remind me of the ones on St. Francis’s in Assissi.
