No, we haven’t yet achieved perfection. Not even close. But we try. It takes us time, often too much time, to establish rights for all. Our Founders were for the most part white and wealthy. Many owned slaves. They lived in a time very different than our time, yet made a constitution that would serve us through today by being the vehicle to extend our rights to all Americans. Our Founders established a new self government. If our leaders fail us, if our government fails us, it is the fault of WE, the People… But we have the charge and the means to fix it, if we choose to.
Can you picture in your mind the chaos in this morning’s staff meetings at the White House? Did you read the article about Prime Minister Amhed of Ethiopia winning the Nobel Peace Prize? I saw that article this morning… ROTFLMAO…. oh oh oh … to be a fly on the wall in that room this morning…
We have a wannabe dictator *resident with senile dementia, probably also Alzheimer’s, probably also manic depressive disorder, but every time he speaks he shows that he also has a full-blown Messiah complex… Any normal person in this country would be advised to seek medical aid… But the GOP continues to uphold his reign and enable him to be the Mad Caligula of our times… The scholars in future times are going to have a field day trying to figure out how and why we let this madman rule our lives for years.
I thought the country was starting to ‘act’ like human beings toward each other but definitely racism was still there. However, the day Trump announced his campaign for President – all hell broke out. It was there before but we did not realize how BAD it was. He has made it okay and fine to be a racist openly. When someone catches you – you turn it on them and say YOU are the racist – I am the least racist person you know – I do not have a racist bone in my body! That seems to work for a person who is supposed to be a Role Model!! Doubt that most people would hold Trump up as a Role Model — unless they are racist and probably a white supremacist!
This is reprehensible. Do not put words into the mouths of leaders who have passed. MLK may or may not have said something like this today, but you have no right to fraudulently take his image to advance your agenda.
