    Shouldn’t that be " … you’re sacked … "? And shouldn’t we say to Erin, “You’re screwed”?

What about working on that novel that you had started writing earlier this summer, Lottie?

“London”, “Wendlefield”, “Hell, then Svalbard (with wendigos and goblin Santa Claus), then a little pocket neighborhood in Tackleford behind the grocery store where Mrs. Terry keeps characters who haven’t appeared in a long time”… eh, it’s really all the same. (Although at least in Hell she was ruling the place, so that probably made it preferable to Wendlefield…)

But at least things are looking up for Mike for once. Hope nothing bad happens to him soon, he could use the good fortune. (Whistles innocently.)

Erin, lovely as always. And to think that her sister adore Lottie and knows what a genius she is. So, maybe Erin is jealous of Lottie and see her like a rival?

Lottie has a point—she was never really “hired” in the first place. She just sort of waltzed in one day like she owned the place and started doing investigative reporting no matter what Michael there thought of it, because he couldn’t seem to stop her.

(Actually, come to think of it, that might be part of why Michael got replaced in the first place…clearly, the powers that be don’t understand Lottie’s potential either).

Which leaves unanswered the burning question: is Erin still wearing those red cowboy boots?

She was at best learning on the job. No pay other than knowledge gained.
